previous animations

so I've been animating for about 2 years. all of my content is on TikTok and Youtube. I would repost more of it here but a lot of it uses copyrighted audio. I'm no lawyer but i have a feeling that posting these animations with the original audio might get me in trouble.

Also, i havent seen many stop motion animators on here... Anyone know any on here? im down to make new friends on here regardless of medium.

I'm no lawyer either, but publishing content that used licensed music without permission by the rights-holder _will_ get you into trouble - regardless of where you publish. The only question here is "How soon?"

On NG, moderation is done by actual people - so any fallout "presumably" happens pretty much within the first few hours after uploading.

YT, on the other hand does not care about anything. So you'll get your DMCA strikes either when your stuff gets mass flagged by an representative of the music industry or when somebody who publishes similar stuff to yours sees you as an obstacle and flags your videos i intervals - so you'll lose your account (and all your followers) over it - because YouTube is a cesspool full of sharks.

I have no idea about TikTok, because I don't touch stuff that's that closely monitored by affiliates of the Chinese government with a ten foot pole. But that's more of a 'me-descision'. I'm sure that enough people don't care that it won't become an issue for you.

So yeah: Fun times.

As an aside: You 'could' go and replace the audio in question with something by Kevin MacLeod & Co. - thereby avoiding any legal issues in the first place.
